Clay has been our passion!
All students across the school have experienced the wonderful world of clay and 3D modeling…with amazing results.
Foundation artists: We love our pet rocks……we talk to them to make them happy and they make us happy too!
Grade 1/2 artists: Our pots are so special ~ they have an Australian animal sitting on them!
Grade 3/4 artists: We have been creating models of frogs, butterflies and dragonflies to have as a reminder of our work with Kaan’s Winya.
Grade 5 artists: We investigated the way the Aboriginal Artists of the Ernabella Community developed their ceramic pots. We moulded a slab over a form to make a cylindrical vessel and decorated following the sgraffito style ~ carving images through the slip to reveal the clay body.
Grade 6 artists: We made a figurine of the Australian animal that we selected as a mosaic footprint tile for Kaan’s Winya. We decorated them, influenced by the style of Aboriginal artists.
