Principal's Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to find out about Fairfield Primary School.

I am proud to be the principal of Fairfield Primary School – we are a community that values the importance of school, and where families play an active role in supporting the learning, wellbeing, and creative opportunities that our school provides.

Learning and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. We recognise the impact of high-quality learning on living a healthy and happy life. We strive to create an environment and culture where students feel a strong sense of belonging. Our goal is for all children to feel connected, supported, and actively involved in school life.

We are proud of our students’ achievements. We recognise that the primary school years are a special time in a child’s (and their family’s) life. By providing engaging, motivating, challenging and open-ended learning experiences, we establish an environment where students experience success. We also value the element of fun. We want every child’s time at Fairfield Primary School to be enriched with learning opportunities, supported in a safe environment – with a whole lot of fun along the way!

Every child is unique, and we support each one academically, socially, and emotionally to help them make the most of every opportunity our school offers. Our professional and dedicated teachers take time to understand your child, be responsive to their needs, and provide high-quality teaching.

Our original school building, established in 1885, has been thoughtfully enhanced and extended with recent building upgrades. In 2025 we have an enrolment of 560 students across 24 straight-grade classes. Each student takes part in five specialist classes each week: French, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Science, and Visual Arts. We also offer targeted programs including Literacy Support, the Tutor Learning Initiative, and the Student Excellence Program.

There is a lot to be proud of at Fairfield Primary School, especially our commitment to:

  • Building positive relationships between students, staff, and families.
  • Engaging and challenging students in their learning.
  • Delivering exceptional specialist programs.
  • Offering extracurricular activities—from choir and band to concerts and alternative sports.

To learn more about life at our school, we invite you to read our fortnightly newsletters and explore our website.

Thank you again for your interest in Fairfield Primary School. We hope to see you soon!
