Principal's Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to find out about Fairfield Primary School.

I am proud to be the principal of this school. When I started at Fairfield PS in 2016, I quickly recognised that I had become part of a community that values the importance of school and where families are actively involved to make the school a better place.

At our school, we place learning at the centre of all that we do. We recognise the impact that high quality learning can have on living a healthy and happy life, and we maintain an unwavering focus on learning and teaching. We also value the importance of wellbeing. We provide opportunities for students to develop their social and emotional learning, to help them become confident and caring young people.

We value creativity at Fairfield Primary School. It is important for students to explore their ideas and ways of working, so they can make sense of new knowledge, skills and understandings. Our students are active participants in their learning and understand the importance of what they are learning.

This year we have an enrolment of around 530 students across 25 classes. All year levels consist of straight grade classes.

We have a long and proud history, with the school opening in 1885. We are lucky to have many past students who visit and share stories of their time here. We have complemented the original school building with recent upgrades. Our distinctive bell tower and spire is the motif used in our school logo.

There is lots for the Fairfield PS community to be proud of – especially the importance we put on:

  • Building positive relationships between students, staff and families.
  • Engaging and challenging students in their learning.
  • Providing exceptional specialist programs—Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Physical Education and French.
  • Offering extra-curricular opportunities including choir, orchestra, school concerts and alternative sports.

Visitors are always welcome.
