Parking

The school has received reports that parking signs and restrictions posted around the school are not always being followed. We ask that our school community respond to the signs in place; they are there to help ensure the safety of our students.

Commonwealth Bank—school banking program

Tuesday is the Commonwealth Bank school banking day for students to bring in their deposits. For every deposit made at school, no matter how big or small, students receive a silver Dollarmites token. Once students have collected 10 tokens they can be redeemed for an exclusive school banking reward item in recognition of their regular savings habits.

To find out more about the school banking program, access the Commonwealth school banking site, or ask for a 2016 school banking program information pack from the school office.

OSH Club Update

osh1We’re excited to announce another new permanent assistant staff member! Her name is Caitlin and this is her first job in the industry since starting her Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) five months ago. Please feel free to say hello and make her feel welcome.

Last week we started some new competitions at OSHClub. One of them is The Question of the Week. Our first question of the week was ‘How long is the Yarra River?’ The answer is 242 km. Congratulations to Aaron Fuaux who had the closest answer of 252 km. This week’s question is ‘What is the population of Fairfield according to the 2011 census?’ The person who wins each week will gain 5 OSH Bucks. Remember no googling or peeking at other answers!

For those children/parents who don’t know what OSH Bucks are, they’re our rewards system. Children gain OSH Bucks by doing good things in the program like helping tidy up, packing up without being asked, being a good friend, showing positive behaviour, trying new things, eating healthy food or winning competitions/games. Each child has their own page in a book where the OSH Bucks are recorded, although nothing is actually handed to them, they’re able to see their progress upon request. Once they have enough OSH Bucks saved up they’re able to purchase a prize from the $5, $10 or $15 prize box.

The other competition we have started is Footy Tipping! Jess is charge of that one so if anyone would like to get involved please see her. May the best man/woman win.

Next week we have an Outer Space themed program. If any parents have a suggestion for activities or themes PLEASE don’t hesitate to come forward we would LOVE to hear from you!

Kind regards,

Lauren
