There was a buzz in the air Thursday morning as the Fairfield school orchestra took the stage in the Old Hall for a senior school performance. The musical sounds of trumpets, flutes, recorders, violins, cellos and pianos joined to create a repertoire of instantly recognisable songs including Ode to Joy, Addams Family Theme and the Theme from Rocky. The orchestra is to be acknowledged for their stage presence and entertaining performance. Well done!

Next, the choir took the stage to the steady sound of applause. They commenced their first school performance with Pick A Pocket (from Oliver!), Space Oddity and followed it up with Count On Me. It was wonderful to see the poise and excitement of the students. As well as singing beautifully, they demonstrated their high quality musicality.

Directed by Performing Arts Teacher Keri Spence, the orchestra and choir are to be commended for their ability to each perform as a group. It takes lots of practise to develop the skills of listening and playing! We thank both Keri and our wonderful musicians for their performance.
