Cross Country—Meeting the Challenge

After the wonderful success at the Northcote District Cross Country competition, Fairfield Primary School students braved the cold conditions and a challenging course at Bundoora Park for the Darebin Division Carnival. Despite the cold weather, and even a fall, the students once again proved that they were prepared to challenge themselves to complete the race.

Nine students qualified for the Northern Region Carnival, where they once again went to Bundoora Park to test themselves further. Congratulations to all nine—Maya Diamond, Tom Diamond, Magnus Mulhall, Simone Mooney, Julian Lynch, Will Mooney, Sophie Chernishoff, Pippa Kluge and Angus Blake —who participated in this process. It truly is a great achievement to challenge yourself to run long distance races. It is wonderful to see so many Fairfield students who bravely accepted the challenge and so many who qualified to participate in the many levels of competition.

Learn to Swim

Learn to Swim enrolments have now closed and we wish to thank all the families who have enrolled their child/children into the program. The program will begin on Friday 22 July with students attending one 45 minute lesson a week, for eight weeks. The lessons will take place at Ivanhoe Aquatic Centre and we ask for parents volunteers to assist with the changing of the children (Working With Children’s Checks are required). If you are able to help on a particular day, please speak to your classroom teacher. Class group and times are currently being organised and will be communicated soon. We hope all those involved learn a lot from the program.
