On 25 May, 49 brave students challenged themselves against the cold wind and the difficult 2km/3km courses at the Northcote District Cross Country competition. This year was the first time the H.L.T Oulton Reserve was used as the cross country venue in an attempt to provide better views of the entire course. The new course proved to be very challenging and xcountryball those who participated should be very proud of their efforts and their ability to push themselves.

Well done to all participants and a big congratulations to Thomas Diamond, Will Mooney and Simone Mooney who finished 1st in their events, Sophie Chernishoff who came 2nd as well as Georgia SandsMaya Diamond and Magnus Mulhall who finished 3rd. Students who finished in the top ten (Matilda Brewer–6th, Pippa Kluge–7th, Julian Lynch–9th) are to xcountry-gbe commended—they have qualified for the Darebin Division Carnival on Wednesday the 8 June. This carnival will take place at Bundoora Park from 10am – 12:30pm. Parents of students whoqualified for this event have been notified via Compass.

On behalf of the Northcote District, we give a huge thank you to those parents who helped with marshalling at the district cross country. Without your incredible help, the day would not have been a success. Any parents who are able to assist with marshalling at the Division competition please see Geoff McShane before Wednesday 7 June.
