What a great start to the year at Fairfield Primary School!  We have witnessed amazing school community support for the Fair to Remember, the Mother’s Day stall and the most recent working bee to tidy up the school for the official opening of Kaan’s Winya. Our children have gained a wonderful sense of community by observing the work of volunteers; the fun they have is an added bonus.

communityAll our events are possible due to the dedication of the Fairfield PS staff and the fabulous parent, carer and community volunteers. As event volunteers and new members of the Community Committee, we have seen amazing engagement, which in turn as made these events special and significant for the children.

A focus of the Community Committee is to provide ongoing assistance to school events through the review and support of event proposals at the School Council. If you have an event in mind or would like to become involved, please feel free to come along to the next Community Committee meeting on Wednesday 8 June at 6.30pm in the staff room. We’d love to have your ideas and input.

Mark your calendars! Here’s a list of some of the upcoming community events:

  • Rock Trivia Night—2016: A Song Odyssey (Saturday 18 June)
  • Election Day BBQ (Saturday 2 July)
  • Working Bee (date TBD – pre-Art4All)
  • Father’s Day Stall (Wednesday 31 August)
  • Art4All@FPS (Friday 9 – Sunday 11 September)

If you are interested in playing a role in any of these events, whether it is volunteering for a short time on the day, or helping run the event, please feel free to email the school’s communications officer, Sarah Moody (moody.sarah.l@edumail.vic.gov.au)
