The Foundation children returned to school filled to the brim with stories to share about their holidays. Many of us went camping on the holidays and have enjoyed extending camping experiences in the dramatic play area.

After the success of the colourful Marble Run in Term 1, we have been exploring the use of recycled tubing to make our own Marble Runs. Drawing inspiration from some incredible YouTube videos, we have collaborated to experiment with simple physics principles using excellent scientific language as we go! Re-purposing the train tracks helped us make very interesting shapes and runs.

Drawing is a skill we practise almost every day in Foundation (even the teachers are still IMG_0909learning!). In Term Two we are enjoying the last of the summer flowers, creating some beautiful observational drawings of sunflowers and cosmos, looking closely at the details in the flowers.

We are continuing our exploration of patterns in Term 2. We have been keeping our eyes and ears open for patterns inthe world around us as well as creating, copying and continuing patterns in our learning space.

With such a smooth transition into autumn, you wouldn’t believe the children have only had one term at school!
